HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
A big word of thanks to “Tournament Guru” Mark Collins as he organizes the 5th Annual “Turkey Classic” B-Ball Tournament here at W-C this coming weekend. I know Mr. Collins would be the first one to say that this is a team effort and many hands will help make this event another big success. The tournament starts on Thursday and ends on Sunday. GO BULLDOGS!
We have an Early Release Day on Tuesday and No School on Wednesday of this coming week. Also, there is no school on Thursday and Friday as we celebrate the Thanksgiving Holiday. Classes resume on Monday, December 1st.
School Board Elections Coming! The terms of Mr. Tim Szeklinski, Board President, and Mr. Todd Bluhm, Board Vice President, will be up for election on April 7, 2015. If you, or anyone you know who resides in the Washington-Caldwell School District, is interested in finding out more about school board responsibilities, please feel free to contact me. I will be more than happy to meet with anyone interested in serving as an elected school board member.
Our outdoor sign is operational! Do you have any suggestions to help make it even more readable? If so, please feel free to email me at [email protected]. In advance, thank you!
We are starting a new program at school! It is called: H(help)E(encourage) & R(respect)O(others). Our HERO program is part of our PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports program) that emphasizes being respectful, responsible, and safe at school. We have high expectations for everyone at Washington-Caldwell and the HERO program will assist in our efforts. We kicked off our HERO program on Friday with an all-school assembly followed by the staff volleyball game. Look for more information in the future.
The weather is turning colder with each passing day. Parents are asked to dress their children appropriately as temperatures continue to fall – and along with those temps – snow! Winter coats, hats & gloves are a necessity!
Parents and visitors to our school are asked to be extra careful when driving in our parking lot. At the beginning of the day and at dismissal, all parents should use the east parking lot. By doing so, you will not interfere with buses dropping off or picking up students. Please remember - safety first!
Please visit our website and click on “2014-2015 School-Wide Goals.” These school board goals will keep us focused on improving student achievement in 2014-2015.
Thank you for your continued support for the students and staff at Washington-Caldwell!
