(Helen Keller)
This quote has been our school’s motto for the past eight years. Our students have embraced this concept – working together – and it’s what makes our school very special. Imagine: People, regardless of age, working together to help each individual reach their highest potential. Washington-Caldwell is a very special school . . . and 2016-2017 school year promises to be an even more successful one.
The Wisconsin “School Report Card” is part of the accountability system that the Badger State has established. The purpose of the “School Report Card” is to give additional information to parents as to how public schools in Wisconsin are doing in their efforts to help students grow. Our most recent “School Report Card” score was 77.9 or “Exceeds Expectations.” This is a wonderful and tangible example of what students, parents, and teachers can do when they work together to achieve a common goal: excellence! As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 262-662-3466, ext. 161 or [email protected].
Parental involvement is strong at Washington-Caldwell . . . and encouraged! I urge all of our parents to find time to share their talents to help our PTO accomplish great things this year. All of our PTO efforts are designed to help our students succeed. Parent involvement is extremely important. All of us at school encourage and welcome parental involvement which is crucial to student success. Again, get involved!
I invite you to visit our website and click on “2016-2017 School-Wide Goals.” These school board adopted goals will keep us focused on improving student achievement in 2016-2017.
One of the goals is to continue the administrative succession plan adopted four years ago by our school board. This plan began the process of appointing Ms. Jill Saltzmann as my successor. This year Ms. Saltzmann is once again the full-time principal at Washington-Caldwell and she is moving towards earning her district administrator license in December. I am working part-time (approximately five days per month). If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Ms. Saltzmann. Her school number is 262-662-3466, ext. 166 and her email address is [email protected]. Ms. Saltzmann welcomes your comments, suggestions, and ideas.
Let’s continue to work together to help make our school the very best for our young people! Thank you for your continued support!
GO BULLDOGS!

“Few will have the opportunity to bend history itself,
but each of us can work to change a small portion of events
and in the total of all these acts will be written
the history of this generation.”
