Superintendent’s Bulletin Board Message
“Alone we can do so little; together, we can do so much.” (Helen Keller)
Washington-Caldwell named as a 2014 “HIGH ACHIEVING SCHOOL”
by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction
For the Week of November 17, 2014:
Congratulations to all of our students in 4 and 5 Year-Old Kindergarten, Grade 1, and Grade 2 who earned “Terrific Kids” certificates from the Waterford Area Kiwanis Club. These were awarded on Wednesday morning. Also, congratulations to our middle school students who earned either First Honors (3.667-4.000) or Second Honors (3.000-3.666) for the first nine weeks of school. Honor Roll certificates were awarded to these students Wednesday afternoon during an Honor Roll Perfect Attendance assembly.
Kindergarten students in 4K and 5K through Grade 8 students who earned Perfect Attendance for the first nine weeks also received Perfect Attendance certificates. Congratulations to theses students, as well!
The monthly meeting of our school board will take place on Monday, November 17th starting at 6:30 p.m. in the library. Please attend!
The Washington-Caldwell “Turkey Classic” Basketball Tournament Returns! This week, the 5th Annual “Turkey Classic” Basketball Tournament will be held on Thursday thru Sunday! Mr. Collins is looking for some additional volunteers to help make this annual tournament a big success. Please call school (662-3466) or email Mr. C. at [email protected] if you can share your time and talents. It’s easy . . . and FUN!
On Friday morning, we have a Staff Volleyball Game played before our student body. Preceding the event, we will have an all-school assembly to announce our “HERO’s Program” that will emphasize the need Help, Encourage & Respect Others. This is part of our Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports program at school or P.B.I.S.
School Board Elections Coming! Speaking of our School Board, the terms of Mr. Tim Szeklinski, Board President, and Mr. Todd Bluhm, Board Vice President, will be up for election on April 7, 2015. If you, or anyone you know who resides in the Washington-Caldwell School District, is interested in finding out more about school board responsibilities, please feel free to contact me. I will be more than happy to meet with anyone interested in serving as an elected school board member. The deadline for filing Declarations of Candidacy is Tuesday, January 6, 2015.
Finally, please remember to check our school’s very informative website for up-to-date information. Our website address is: washcald.com. Also, I write a weekly message that is posted on the home page. Simply click on “Dr. P.’s Weekly Message” and my “Superintendent’s Bulletin Board Message” will magically appear for my thoughts on the week ahead.
GO BULLDOGS!
